About
The Great Godmothers is a non-profit organization focused on coaching and empowering women. Our mission is to break generational curses by partnering women in need with stable Christian Godmothers who provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support. Through Christ-centered relationships, we equip women navigating crisis and instability to rebuild their lives and walk in freedom and purpose. Our vision is to create a faith-filled, loving support system for every woman.
Growing | Reflecting | Equipping | Acting | Thriving
That's what makes us G.R.E.A.T!

Our Story
The Great Godmothers was born from simple acts of love and a growing realization that women need more than temporary help — they need lasting relationships.
It began when our founder, Jen Riley, joined a small group called Women on a Mission, later known as 💜 Hope Dealers 💜, led by the late Randa Frye and Dre Hopkins (current leader). Their mission was to bring hope, joy, and God’s Word to women at the Shadows women’s shelter in Ashland, MA through fellowship, testimonies, and genuine connection.
Every Sunday, AnnMarie faithfully has and continues to stop by the shelter to offer women a ride to church, creating a bridge between shelter life and a faith community where women could begin to heal and grow. When women stayed connected, their lives flourished. But when they left the shelter and lost that connection, many found themselves isolated and vulnerable once again.
Jen saw a painful gap: while housing and resources were available, women were still missing what mattered most — loving, consistent relationships grounded in Christ.
Why We Exist
The vision of The Great Godmothers grew from both observation and personal experience.
During a difficult season in her own life, Jen experienced homelessness with her young son. She was blessed with family and community to lean on, and she knows firsthand how different life feels when you do not walk alone. God placed a calling on her heart to help women and children find stability, dignity, and hope through Christ-centered relationships.
She realized that women don’t just need a program — they need community, guidance, and motherly love they may have never known before.
That is why we are called The Great Godmothers.
G.R.E.A.T. stands for:
Growing – spiritually and emotionally in Christ
Reflecting – with honesty and grace
Equipping – with faith, life skills, and confidence
Acting – on truth and personal responsibility
Thriving – not just surviving, but living with purpose
Godmothers are loving guides and spiritual coaches who walk alongside women as they rebuild their lives. We are not called to rescue — only Jesus can do that — but we are called to love, to walk beside, and to remind every woman that through Christ, all things are possible.

We believe in the potential of all women to embrace who they are, define their future, and change the world.
